
Dr Sonya Bryan
Educational Background
Dr. Sonya Bryan is a Mississippi native from Belmont and a 1992 graduate of the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Early Career & Animal Rescue Work
She began her career practicing in Memphis, TN, and surrounding areas until 2000, where she owned a private practice and helped establish Fayette County Animal Rescue to support sick, injured, and abandoned animals.
Return to Mississippi & Private Practice
Dr. Bryan returned to Mississippi to open a new practice in Corinth and, in 2003, acquired All Animal Hospital of Tupelo, where she continues to serve as a full-time primary care veterinarian.
Leadership Roles & Professional Service
Over the years, Dr. Bryan has held multiple leadership positions, including Medical Director, Regional Medical Director, and Regional Director of Clinical Operations for several large veterinary practice groups. She currently serves as Premise Evaluator for the Mississippi Board of Veterinary Medicine and continues her clinical work at All Animal Hospital in Tupelo.
Founding North MS Pet Emergency Hospital
After more than 25 years of service in the North Mississippi area, Dr. Bryan recognized the urgent need for round-the-clock emergency care and opened the North MS Pet Emergency Hospital in 2024.
Veterinary Interests & Expertise
Dr. Bryan is especially passionate about soft tissue surgery, emergency and critical care medicine, and offering compassionate care to critically ill and senior pets facing age-related challenges.

She is a member of the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (IVECCS).
Personal Life & Interests
Beyond veterinary medicine, Dr. Bryan enjoys college sports, golf, gardening, and caring for her large goldfish pond. She cherishes time with her family — Phillip, Karsten, Mackenzie, and Matt — along with her two rescue dogs (Marley and Flip), her lively herd of cats (including Theo, George, Callie, Pandy, Old Man, Sandy, Buttons), and her two talkative parrots: a Blue and Gold Macaw named Billy and an African Grey named Way Cool.
